Nix Ironstone (formerly known as Nicole Rayy) founded HarmoniaFest in November 2019, driven by frustration with the lack of female representation in festival lineups. As the 2020 rosters were being announced, she noticed once again that male performers dominated the stages, with few—if any—female names on the posters. Recognizing the incredible talent and hard work of so many women in the industry, Nicole set out to create a space that would celebrate and elevate them. “I’ve always believed that you can’t wait around for an opportunity—you have to create it yourself,” says Ironstone.

HarmoniaFest evolved from Nix Ironstone’s “All Woman” songwriter series, a collection of in-person and virtual shows she has passionately curated over the past five years. In August 2020, the first-ever all-female drive-in music festival came to life in Milton, Ontario, in partnership with the Italian Cultural Centre of Milton. The event was a powerful celebration of female talent and empowerment, featuring outstanding performances from artists like Mackenzie Leigh Meyer, Suzy Kori, Alessia Cohle, and Leah Daniels. Hosted by Linda Martelli and Derm Carnduff of KX94.7, the festival garnered media coverage from outlets including Amplify Magazine, Soundcheck Entertainment, and Canadian Beats.

Following the success and enthusiasm surrounding the inaugural HarmoniaFest, Nicole Ironstone brought the festival back in September 2021, this time partnering with Brooks Farms in Mount Albert, Ontario. With pandemic restrictions easing, fans could step out of their cars and fully immerse themselves in the live music experience. The festival continued to grow year after year returning to Brooks Farms in 2022, 2023 and 2024 – each edition offered fans a vibrant outdoor setting and the charm of the farm’s scenic property. KX Country promoting the event across the airwaves and helping to amplify its message of empowerment and community.

In 2025 we moved to our new home, Market Brewing Company in Newmarket, ON, partnering with the Country Music Association of Ontario to bring an indoor AND outdoor setting, with craft beer, food, artisans & more! KX Country remained a proud supporter along with the addition of Hot Country 88.5.
